Downers Grove South Swim/Dive Season Opener

On Wednesday evening the DGS ladies swim and dive teams had thier season opener against Lake Park High School at home with split results.

There were many highlights to the evening including Cassidy Horvath(9) winning the Junior Varsity 1meter dive competition with a score of 80.35.  Like wise Jessica Fields(11) won the varsity competition with a fantastic score of 109.35. 

Although the end results of the swim competition found Lake Park winning over the Mustangs with a final tally of: LP Varsity 178, DGS Varsity 106 and LP Junior Varsity 194, DGS Junior Varsity 118- there was some great swimming done by the team.

Sara Koniecko(12) topped the varsity showing by winning two of her races.  The women's 50yd freestyle with a time of 26.01 and the 100yd free at a time of 58.35.

Junior Varsity sophomore Andrea Fogarty topped the winners board in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events with times of 2:27.02 and 6:39.28 respectively.

The Lady Mustang Swim and Dive Team takes on Benet High School at home on Wednesday September 8th begining at 5:00pm.More
