Feb. 9 Author! Author! Meeting Rescheduled for Feb. 16
JULIS36   02/09/10 08:32 AM   19 HITS

Due to the winter storm and subsequent hazardous driving conditions expected in the evening, the Feb. 9 meeting of Author! Author! has been postponed until next Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 7:00pm.

Social media marketing will be the topic of presentation at the meeting of Author! Author! which will take place at the Downers Grove Chamber of Commerce, 2001 E. Butterfield Rd. in the Esplanade office park, just off I-355.

Michael Dunn and Don Gingold will introduce and discuss the pros and cons, do's and dont's of a "blitz" of Internet-based marketing vehicles: website, social network entries, eCommerce, email campaigns, blogs, forums, etc. and then identify the ones to attack first.

The Author! Author! Chicagoland Book & Author Marketing Network brings published and yet-to-be-published authors together to share ideas about marketing themselves and their books through promotions, public relations, publicity, advertising and other marketing techniques. Author! Author! meets on the second Tuesday of each month unless otherwise posted on the www.author-author.org website.

Visitors are invited to sit in on one or two meetings before deciding to join. For more information, visit www.author-author.org or email julis@author-author.org

St. Charles Toyota honors Batavia High School's Megan Ramp

St. Charles Toyota honored Batavia High School junior Megan Ramp Feb. 5 as the winner of Triblocal.com's High School Player of the Month contest for December.

Ramp served as captain of the girls' golf team and was a key contributor to Batavia's success during the 2009 season. Ramp was honored during a ceremony before Batavia's boys basketball team hosted Glenbard South.

Ramp received the highest number of votes cast by readers during the balloting period in December's contest. Triblocal.com nominates student athletes from local high schools for each month's contest. Readers then go online to cast their votes for their favorite nominee. The student with the most votes at the end of the balloting period is declared the winner.

St. Charles Toyota, the contest's sponsor, makes a $500 donation to the student's high school and presents the student with an award.

Votes are now being accepted for the nominees in February's contest.
